Habitat Interfaith Partnership (HIP) is a coalition of seven faith groups and one civic organization that includes First Presbyterian Church of Pittsford, St. Louis Catholic Church, St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, United Church of Pittsford, Christ Clarion Presbyterian Church, Temple Sinai of Penfield, Islamic Center of Rochester and the Pittsford Rotary Club. The coalition was formed in 1999 to raise funds and to provide volunteers for construction with Flower City Habitat for Humanity. By working together, we are enriched through new friendships and we build understanding and trust as well as houses. Starting in 2001, we have helped build 7 new homes in the poverty crescent area of the city of Rochester, improving the quality of life for residents and particularly for children who thrive in their new environment.
